How might your current work contribute to the sustainability movement?
I am studying permaculture and web design. Turning yards in to gardens and planting fruit trees for the next generation, and getting the word out through ar and writing and animation, that that there is an alternative way to live is my goal.
In what ways do you personally identify with the Sustainability & Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I got rid of my car, read everything by Daniel Quinn and have "an earnest desire to save the world." If we start now we will be amazed at the possibilities for change.
I am looking to form an ecovillage/cohousing community in berkeley or Oakland.
I recently moved back to the Bay area and would like to meet
others interested in forming community living situations within the
next year or sooner.
Right now I live with one other roommate and do not have access
to a garden but would like to begin meeting others interested
in creating a community living situation for low income folks
near bart so we have the option of doing without cars or with
less cars. I do not have a car at the moment and would like to
be able to stay car free or share.
Please contact me if you are interested.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
web design, visual art and design, Thai massage, yoga, pilates trainer.
What aspects of the sustainability movement most interests you?
Creating an infrastructure for vegan and local foods. dismantlalling the factory farm system, forming new communities while the old system is winding down.
Finding new forms of transportation, and doing away with the old wasteful forms.
promoting, greywater systems, rainwater saving and permaculture activities.

Hi Zoe, I like your post, it opens up some good subjects, I will be writing about them, and will post tonight. Intentional Community, this is what I dream about, and have worked on, but is the most behind in what I do. See my page at www.ic.org search Holy Earth.
Thanks for adding me as a friend Zoe. Networking and the connections made
between members of society are key especially within the general systems view of life.I currently live on social security and am looking for more wholistic ways of living. I am interested in living in an intentional community in Oakland.
My phone # is 510.499.1722 my e.mail is Troy.Massey@Gmail. I don't think the Internet is the best forum for changing how we live our lives dynamically but it is a useful tool. Now if I can figure out how to upload my picture to my profile using my iPhone :)
I went to your website and you look like a good artist! I like everything you say on your Transition profile here -- and you live Berkeley, right close to us! I'm sorry about all the turkey death at Thanksgiving! Every blessing on you and yours for the holidays!
