Hi Mary,

I haven't heard back from you so I wanted to touch base. I went to a potluck at the Oak Commons Co-Housing in Paso Robles saturday and my family and I had a great time. It was also a transitions meeting to talk about how we can move toward a better future. My wife and I are making enjoying visiting different co-housing communities to see what we like and where we would like to create new opportunities and emphasis for a co-housing community.

I would like to add energy and agricultural self-sufficiency as possible goals, especially in light of transitioning toward a different future. It seems that the proposed site would create the limitations for what a community could be. I am interested in hearing more about your site.

Welcome Mary,

Yes I have linked up with John Robb. In fact I learned from him about the Transition Cities video asap before any of my other contacts! I have his book and have been in correspondence. To expand the Transition movement to others who are talking about community resilience even if they are counter terrorists planners, we may find many allies. It was in his recent blog where he includes the Transition CA site:

In contrast to the slow and simplistic ad hoc efforts from nation-states, resilient community efforts are spreading virally on a global scale. One of the catalysts for this has been the widespread availability of social software (which started with blogs and grew from there). The "Transition California" site, built on Ning, is a good example of how these tools are being used. >>

Did you attend the Boyd Conference? Any reports you know about it? We are going into production and would love to know more about the results of the conference and post them at the Tr MEDIA Group. Or you can.

gracias for joining!!!

bob
