How might your current work contribute to the sustainability movement?
I work in the building trades putting in marble terrazzo floors. I am looking to transition into a natural building capacity in the very near future.
In what ways do you personally identify with the Sustainability & Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I feel it's unethical that my country (US) uses 30% of global material resources. I want to work personally toward a minimal footprint and take steps to work toward a global equilibrium.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
My experience has been in construction, electronics, advocacy, and activism. I also served on the wrong side of the fence in the US Navy. Took a while but I realized what our military was doing is dead wrong.
Hello Joshua and welcome to the Transition California Community Network! We are happy that you joined and welcome your involvement and sharing with the community. Apologies for taking so long to approve your membership and greet you but our team was in training and orientation since August 2012 and we are just now catching up with all the networks. Here is a link to the 'how to' video tutorials for using and navigating the network and if you have any questions feel free to contact me directly or post them here.
I see you've joined a couple of groups, there is also a Transition East Bay group that you may find useful.
