FlexCars, Brazil and alcohol

What's new? Hydraulic hybrids!

What's old? Alcohol fueled vehicles.

Brazil's invested heavily in sugarcane alcohol production for its flexfuel vehicles, which are becoming very popular here, since it's cheaper per liter than gasoline. R$1.25/liter of alcohol vs R$2.50/liter gasoline (US$ 2.00/gallon alcohol vs US$ 3.96/gallon gasoline).

Hi DNR

We are working on getting all the group leaders and initiatives better organized, developed, and connected here on Transition California and will be scheduling a group leader conference call that we will be announcing soon.  In the meantime a new member Tashi just joined and wanted to start a Transition Berkeley group and Judith who started the Transition East Bay group is from Berkeley but her group covers Oakland.  Your group - Bay Area Community Exchange - covers the whole area and although it is undeveloped your group has a 'Time Bank' set up which is a huge asset.  The website link on your group is giving an 'error' message and there is zero content on the group page.  What we want to help facilitate is connection between all the group leaders and work with all of you to help set up your groups in a functional way - including creating front page links and 'pages' that can serve as mini-sites for your endeavors.  Please friend Judith and Tashi to begin the conversations among yourselves about what your goals are and how we and this network can help you to achieve them.  We will be in touch as we go along...

Thank you!
