How might your current work contribute to the sustainability movement?
I am working with the No-GMO SF (https://www.facebook.com/LabelGMOsSF) and No KeystoneXL (350.org and Credo). I also hold permaculture design certification and work with Alemany Urban Farm.
In what ways do you personally identify with the Sustainability & Transition movement? Why are you interested?
We can no longer settle for building "sustainability;" rather, our environment, culture, and society demand "regeneration" in order to address its significant challenges. I believe that building and enriching the practice of community has the best chance at bridging the gaps and promoting group problem solving. And...it's way more fun.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
I retired from teaching at the high school level in San Mateo county. I have studied permaculture both here and in Australia. Though I am a San Mateo county resident, I would like to work with SF TransitionTown to collaborate in furthering awareness of genetically modified foods and climate change.
