How might your current work contribute to the sustainability movement?
I have recently moved to a yoga ashram from Los Angeles, where I belonged to Transition Mar Vista/Venice. I love Rob Hopkins and the principles of Transition. I am now living in community for a spiritual purpose, and am grateful for all the heart and soul work I have done! The ashram is beautiful, peaceful, grows organic food and has planted orchards. There is a 10-day permaculture course offered here every fall with Bill Wilson, a wonderful teacher and human being. I thought I would reach out to more local transitioners and let them know...
In what ways do you personally identify with the Sustainability & Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Much prefer fostering connection and hope, rather than fear. Appreciate connecting with people willing to face the truth. Non-violent and practical. Education and creativity.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
Although I resonate with many aspects of Transition, I am not able to participate actively at the moment. Being staff at an ashram is quite demanding. Would you mind me posting events I think are relevant?
What aspects of the sustainability movement most interests you?
Love the simplicity, reskilling. Love being creative with reusing/repurposing. I appreciate the story-telling and visioning. Love reviving older traditions. Love that even the smallest victories are to be celebrated. We are craving ways to connect!
